Trail Extended

The Stark County Park District opened a one-mile section of the Nickelplate Trail on Oct. 18, 2004. The new trail extends a popular pedestrian trail from Metzger Park to south of Georgetown Street.

Trail Specs:

Class: A3-

Length: 2.8 miles / asphalt - 8-9' wide

Condition: Good

Facilities: A portable toilet and water fountain in Metzger Park. Also, a nice children's playground there.

Food: A number of choices in Louisville.

Parking: A small lot at McKimm and Pinevale in Louisville. Largest lot is in Metzger Park off Nickelplate Street. The park entrance is directly across from the YMCA.
