Surface Changes In 2011

East of the Bridge of Dreams, for perhaps 1/2 to 3/4 of mile, a 9-10' wide asphalt surface has been put down on the trail. Close to the bridge, crushed stone dust is scattered over the tarmac to give it a "towpath-like" appearance. Further east along the bikeway, small pea-size gravel has been used instead.

We're guessing that this short section is a demo of what the trail will look like when the entire surface is eventually completed.

I love to walk with my sister and her boyfriend there. It is peaceful, you just have fun with the whole outdoors thaing it is kool.

Trail Specs:

Class: C2-

Length: 4.4 mile gravel & dirt - width 6-8' for each of the 2 side-by-side trails.

Condition: Good to Very Good

Facilities: Latrine at the Bridge of Dreams by the Mohican River in Brinhaven. There you'll also find picnic tables. A well pump was close by, but not operational. No drinking water stops on the trail.

Food: Dairy stand on Main Street (Rt. 62 in Danville) - may be closed on Sundays. A drive-thru across the street and a grocery store nearby.

Parking: Parking available in Danville on East Street. Also parking along the trail near the Bridge of Dreams on Hunter Rd off of Rt. 62 near Brinkhaven. When crossing the Mohican River on Rt. 62 look south to see the covered trail bridge.
