Places To Eat & Downtown Access3/14/10 by Ben Slagle...I'm local to the Metroparks Bikeway and there is fairly easy access to a truck stop under a mile from the trail. It can be accessed from the trail by taking Webb Rd. east to OH State Rt. 46. There are a few truck stops there, particularly one at the end of Webb Rd, and across the bridge (slightly to the south) over I-80 there are some restaurants. It's also easy to access downtown Canfield, OH from the bike trail at the US 224 (labeled as State St. on the signs) intersection. New Bicycle Bridge3/11/06 by Mark EisenbraunAs of very late 2005 there is a bicycle bridge over the very dangerous Mahoning Avenue crossing. Also the Metropark uses bicycles as well as small 4 wheelers to patrol the area. The MetroPark farms parking lot has a very nice trailhead that winds around a duck pond. Also southbound from this trail head is where you can experience some of the farms longhorn cattle. I did have one experience last summer when they were spraying ammonia fertilizer in the field. The smell of ammonia was enough for me to cut my ride short for the day. Trail Specs:Length: 10.6 miles / asphalt - 10'wide Condition: Very Good Facilities: Restrooms & water at Kirk Road Trailhead & MetroParks Farm. Latrines at Mahoning Road Trailhead.
