Very Nice6/7/09 by Bob WareRode this trail a month or so ago. Very nice, seems like it had been there a while. They seem to be planning a route all the way to Ashtabula. Plenty Of Shade6/26/07 by Jim UllomMy wife and I just rode this trail for the first time and truly enjoyed it. What really made this even better was that a great deal of it was shaded. I do feel that more signs giving directions to the parking lots are needed, but we will be back. Springtime Beauty4/3/07 by Jim Bentley, Cambridge, OHAttached are a some pictures [see photo highlights on the review page] taken while biking the Little Beaver Greenery Trail at Lisbon on 3/25/07. We had a great time and the trail was beautiful. [The photos include] a pair of swans we saw along the trail. They were pretty far away from the trail, so the picture quality is not as good. [And] some crocus that was growing along the trail. Someone obviously had to have planted it and it was so refreshing to see some spring flowers early in the year after all the snow we had earlier. Thank you to whoever planted it, it was a welcome site along the trail. [Also pictured is] a small waterfall of run off water. There were so many of these along the trail, it was like nature's way of washing away winter. Thanks for the web site, it's very helpful. Trail Review3/11/06 by Mark EisenbraunThis is by far the best trail I have ever been on. I always start at the State Route 164 trail head [in Lisbon, Ohio]. When you pull into this trail head you will go about 50 yards on gravel, then turn up a small but steep hill to get to the parking lot. From the parking lot you will head north, there are a few stop signs in this area, so use caution. From this you climb through a nice canopy of trees with some very nice scenery. There is a barn on the left that was once a train station. Then it is into the woods, where I have seen owls, deer, and once I even saw a fox! You continue to climb to about the 6 1/2 mile mark. Here is where you will see where the trail was washed out in 2004. There are a couple of picnic tables here, and I always stop here and have some water. Then it is down hill for a nice jaunt past an open area and farmland. Continuing north there is more woods, and some wetlands. You will come up on a trail head with vending machines. From here you can continue north, where you will come upon the dreaded wooden bridges. This area takes you past some outstanding wetland scenery. You may encounter a lot of horse flies in the late summer, but they don't bother me that much. After the wetlands there is a new trail head. It is mainly just a parking lot, and we turned around here. The trail continues north for a few more miles. Construction Complete1/8/06 by Ruth Ann ReinerThe new trail head at the northern end in Leetonia has been completed and the 1800 feet that was not done earlier is finished. It is wonderful. The culvert I talked about in the last update has also been repaired, so everything is in good working order at this time as [the trail] now begins in Lisbon on St Rt 164 and ends in Leetonia on Washington Street. New Parking & Trail Construction5/17/05 by Ruth Ann ReinerThe main [trail] section that was damaged is fully repaired. There was, however, a culvert that was damaged near the trail head at the 8.5 mile mark and they are working on it right now. They have it closed off while they are working, but with a detour around it on the road it is rideable. It is probably 1/2 mile detour out on the road around it. Very little traffic, so no real problem. The new parking area is at the northern terminus to the present trail. The trail stopped short of (I believe) 1800 feet of the next road. This is the section that will be completed. It is new. It has been rideable, but it has been very rough. We have been trying for the last couple years to get it completed. It should extend the [asphalt] surfaced part of the trail to approx. 10 miles rather than the 9.7 that is blacktopped at this time. I don't know how long the culvert project is going to take, but I would imagine it will be done within the next couple weeks. The new parking area and 1800 feet will hopefully be done in the next month or 2. Popular Trail11/3/03 by Roger JamesI along with many of my friends ride the Little Beaver Creek portion of the Greenway Trail at least 4 to 5 days a week. This is a well used trail. Weekends attract 100's of bikers, walkers, and rollers of all ages. There are also many young people that climb in the rock quarry just short of the one mile marker. Lisbon's Willow Grove Park seems to be packed on Sat. and Sun. every week nowadays. The covered bridge is in good shape and is worth a look. Trail Specs:Length: 10.1 miles / asphalt Condition: Very Good Facilities: Port-o-johns in Lisbon & Franklin Square. Franklin Square also has vending machines, kiosk with trail info & coin-operated air compressor. Food: Ruth Ann Reiner writes, "There is a Mexican Restaurant in Leetonia and also a Dairy Queen approximately 1 mile off the trail. In Lisbon there are several places to eat." Parking: Parking in Lisbon, Coleman, Teegarden, Franklin Square & Leetonia
