In Licking County, about 8 miles east of downtown Newark, the Blackhand Gorge and Panhandle Trails lie in close proximity. The connecting road routes between the two are shown below (in yellow). Nashport Road is Rt. 146. The Brownsville Road route is 1.2 miles long, while the Toboso Road route is 2.3 miles. Please note that these roads are not bike friendly. The east endpoint of the Blackhand Gorge Trail in Toboso has a large parking lot at the main park entrance. The west end of the trail offers a small lot that may be hard to spot. See the Panhandle Trail Specs for more parking locations.
